“We that are true lovers run into strange capers…”

Banished from court, Rosalind and her cousin Celia leave behind their old lives and venture into the Forest of Arden - a world free from strict rules, where disguises give way to true identities, and love blossoms in the most unexpected ways.

Set amidst the British folk revival at the turn of the 20th century, this production is alive with music, poetry, and storytelling - a heartfelt love letter to the English countryside, celebrating its beauty, simplicity, and timeless charm.

Marking the 40th anniversary of Chiltern Shakespeare’s first performance in 1986, As You Like It is a joyous celebration of love, harmony, and connection - as resonant today as when it was first performed over 400 years ago

Please join us and perhaps enjoy a pre-show picnic in the delightful grounds of Hall Barn for this 40th Year celebration.

This is a joint production with The Chiltern Shakespeare Company.

"Child. I am your child."

These words haunt Victor Frankenstein as his creation demands the love and recognition every living soul deserves.  Retold from the unique perspective of the Creature, Nick Dear’s haunting adaptation of Mary Shelley’s classic strips away the cinematic tropes to find the raw, beating heart of her original masterpiece. This production explores the very essence of what it means to be human in a world that often lacks humanity.

The story begins not with the scientist, but with the spark of life itself.  We witness the Creature’s first moments as he is abandoned by his creator and cast out into a world of total sensory confusion.  He must learn to walk, to speak, and to understand the complexities of a society that fears his appearance while ignoring his intellect.
As he evolves from a blank slate into a sophisticated and articulate being, his desperation for connection turns into a calculated and tragic quest for vengeance.  He is a child in a man's body, discarded by his "father" and left to find his own morality in a landscape of rejection.

From the laboratory in Ingolstadt to the frozen wastes of the Arctic, this is an epic tale of responsibility and the consequences of playing God.  Join us for a visceral, physical, and deeply moving production.  We invite you to witness this classic story through new eyes and decide for yourself: Who is the true monster?

Please note that his adaptation includes scenes of violence and adult content.

It is recommended for audiences aged 15 and over.

Fourways Theatre Company’s licence to present Nick Dear’s version of FRANKENSTEIN from the novel by Mary Shelley is granted by Rosica Colin Limited, London.
